This is an archived posting from my previous website “Chips Antidotal Wanderings” – a personal blog about family, creative moments, and pain management activities in my life. That blog was active from 2004-2011.

Strangely enough we did not have snow on the ground for Christmas this year.  While other parts of the country have more than their share we didn’t get any at all.  So totally weird!

We had a wonderful Christmas though.  It was a quiet one for sure with only Our Boo and a friend of hers joining us for a couple hours in the middle of the day.  Made and received phone calls with all our family members and everyone else seems to have had a wonderful holiday as well.

Greg took some time off this year and we are still enjoying several days together just sharing each others company.  We braved the crowds and did a little Day-After-Christmas shopping too.  This was the first time ever for that one.  Honestly the crowds weren’t bad and I did score a couple of good sales.  Besides Michaels Craft Store we also popped into Bed, Bath, and Beyond and picked up a K-cup coffee machine.  I love how handy this little fella is.  Never thought I’d see the day when Greg wouldn’t want to brew up a full pot of coffee, but sure enough – that seems to be the transformation he’s making.

Dad had heart surgery this past week and is still in the hospital.  He is healing up well and plans to go home tomorrow.  I hope he gets to do that as I know how difficult it is to get sleep and real rest when you’re not in your own bed.  Wish I were nearer to him so’s I could assist with the home care, but I’m grateful that Missy will be filling in along with Chris as needed.

I made over 50 holiday cards this year in 4 different styles.  If anyone is interested in seeing them let me know and I’ll post some examples.  For now though….. I do believe the couch is calling me for a mid-morning nap.  😉

How about you?  What are  you up to?
