This is an archived posting from my previous website “Chips Antidotal Wanderings” – a personal blog about family, creative moments, and pain management activities in my life. That blog was active from 2004-2011.

For my holiday Thank You cards this year I used a couple of snowflake patterns cut from my CRICUT machine. I used non-Christmasy colors and patterns too.  I’ve been drawn to plaids lately and used several plaid color combinations on cards.

Here’s and example of the designs I used.

After cutting the blue (base) snowflake I used the negative and “pounced” ink onto the front of some of the cards using a stippled brush. That’s the design shown in the back on an unfinished card.

On the card shown on the top here – I simply layered two snowflake cuts, a 3-D snowflake element, and then added the stamped Thank You greeting on the front.

I like how you can use both the positive cutout and the negative window that’s left behind to achieve different looks!
