This is an archived posting from my previous website “Chips Antidotal Wanderings” – a personal blog about family, creative moments, and pain management activities in my life. That blog was active from 2004-2011.

I’m participating in a digital Circle Jouranl swap where the artist I was to swap with this week was asking us to share the best advice we ever received. Her CJ is called “Pearls of Wisdom”. She wanted the journaling to be accomplished in story form and for us to include our photo on the 2-page spread. Everyone in the CJ swap is also to do coordinating tags with our picture, the name of our LO, and our location.

To create this spread I used the Vintage Reds kit by Kim Liddiard and the Another Love Song kit by Lauren Baven. Two of my very favorite digi-designers over at The Digital Scrapbooking Place. For the format design I used something similar to one I saw in the ScrapArtist gallery that inspired me.

Written in the white shadows is the story Emilie asked for. It reads:

I am honored to have had many mentors in my life – every step of the way. Through my baby years, my teens, into my adult wanderings as well. Bosses who cared for me and my career growth, friends, family members, and strangers along the path. Each had great words of wisdom to share. With such a wealth of spoken pearls, I simply can not choose one as the most important. For all have made an impact and had a creative hand in molding me into the person I am today.

The list of Pearls reads:
— no dream is too big
— you are capable of changing the world
— you can learn as much from failure as you can success
— love to be loved
— treasure your friends and family
— ask questions
— take time to sit on a log and talk to the frogs
— respect others and yourself
— never stop learning
— pray
