This is an archived posting from my previous website “Chips Antidotal Wanderings” – a personal blog about family, creative moments, and pain management activities in my life. That blog was active from 2004-2011.

In my last post I shared with you the Scrap Journal I created for December 2011.  So I thought I’d take a minute just to show you the scrap journal I made for keeping this years memories.  It’s much more simplified and not nearly as chunky.  But I like it equally.  🙂

For this journal, I up-cycled chipboard I got from basic food boxes in my pantry.  Most food items that come in boxes (such as the ones I used this time from my Slim Fast Bars) use thin chipboard.  So I use double layers to make sure the pages are thick enough in the end.  I don’t think you can see it in this picture very well, but this one has two rings for the hinges and I added lots of fun ribbons to each of them.

This book only has a dozen pages in it for now and I don’t think I’ll be adding any extras.  I’ve got enough to create pages highlighting the special events planned for this year and maybe a page or two showing off some creative endeavors as well.  Like for the door-decorating contest at work, etc.

For the pages in this journal I used papers from the Fair Isle Christmas collection from Deja Views.  With a coupon I had, I got this paper pack for less than 5-bucks.  I just couldn’t pass that up!  Love these reindeer pictured on the front and all the papers inside are absolutely delicious!

I hope everyone has had a great start to their Holiday Season!  I’m off to play some more in the art studio.  Wahoo!  Lot’s to do, lot’s to do, and it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas around here!
